Over the weekend a group set up an illegal encampment in the Hainault Forest Country Park, providing the first test for the Council’s High Court Injunction.

Last week the Labour Council delivered on it’s promise to deliver an injunction to help prevent illegal encampments in the borough, which cost thousands of pounds last year in clean up efforts.

Yesterday, the High Court Injunction successfully had it’s first successful test.

The additional powers were used to move on the encampment at Hainault Forest Country Park, with seven caravans and eight vehicles, including a tipper truck, were served the injunction to leave the site yesterday at 12noon and moved on at 2pm.

The eviction was successful after we conducted the appropriate checks on children and vulnerable people who may have been living in the illegal encampment.
